The Town Hosanagara was constituted in 1948. It is situated at a distance of 70 Kms from Shimoga. Hosanagara town is a historic place where Ramachandrapuramatha and Kargadi Ganapati temple near to hosanagara The famous Kodachadri hills stands 40Kms from hosanagara town population is 5043 as per census 2001. The TP has 11 wards and equal number of councilors and .Hosanagara TP stretches to an area of 7.25SqKms.

ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ: ಹೊಸನಗರ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆಯನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 1999ರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಕಛೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನನ-ಮರಣ ನೊಂದಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಾ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.ಹಾಗೂ ಇದರ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೇಂದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
